Your title encompasses what has been going on since the start of this COVID charade! Unfortunately, what we have are governments so far down the fear rhetoric & 'vaccine' rabbit hole, they cannot back track because the walls are too steep.
They cannot justify the billions spent on useless mandates & shots, lock downs costing untold social & economic carnage, useless mandates etc..
Billions which should have been better spent on upgrading hospitals, increasing the number of doctors & nurses and/or providing low cost & effective prophylactic & early illness onset treatments.
Unfortunately, the flock are still filling into the government pens of 'boosters', mask wearing, demonising those who have avoided the jab & ignoring the FACT that these shots are NOT stopping the infection or transmission etc.. hence are not 'vaccines' i.e. they do NOT sterilise the virus &, certainly, do NOT stop transmission, as traditional vaccines do. Just because someone changes the definition to 'protect against..', still does NOT make them vaccines.
I for one, still holding the line, am feeling somewhat lonely. I'm unable to express my opinion amongst family & friends, still with current events & even though I was the only one of our group of 10, at a family camp, who did not become ill/test positive.
The Djokovic saga was NEVER about 'health', only about justifying the past, and current, actions of the governments i.e. not giving exemptions to visit dying relatives or accepting natural immunity in place of getting jabbed, restricting the social interactions of the unjabbed etc.. Also about maintaining 'control' of the flock.
If he lied on his visa application, which is automatically is a reason to cancel it & deport, I don't know.
Australian governments will go down in history as the wooden puppets being controlled by overpaid & compromised bureaucrats.
Bravo!! Great post. I think it's ridiculous that Djokovic is still so much disliked. I understand that when Federer and Nadal were at their peak and he was an upstart challenging them that many of the diehard fans of the former liked to dislike him, but that is all years ago now and really it's time to appreciate him for the great champion and great man that he is. Especially having the guts to stand up against the pressure to get vaccinated and hold true to his convictions. In a way that is more admirable than winning yet another Championship in Down Under this year.
One small bonus: the entire world has seen how petty are the little tinpot dictators now running that once promising and optimistic country into the ground. Sad!

It's totalitarian absurdity that Djokovic should be forbidden to play and actually deported after being granted a visa and a medical exemption -- AND after all he's done to help players and other causes in the Australia. That said though, it's totally in line with that same totalitarian absurdity that the authorities should be fearful of his "spreading" an example of thinking contrary to the standard narrative. The deeper question is whether this crackdown is coming from the authorities or from the Australian public. The scariest possibility is the Stockholm Syndrome that you speak of.

What Australia did was right ,nobody is above the law . The Panel or people who granted him the right to play went against the law of AUSTRALIA . So, Australia Government is not the Culprit rather blame the " Panel " and I hope they make an example of them .
