The Ukrainian Crisis Understood in Four Statements

I will attempt below to exemplify the madness and hypocrisy of the Ukrainian conflict in four important historical statements.

As we begin 2023, there is perhaps no other more dangerous issue on our planet, as liberal elites openly overturn decades of their dutiful anti-nuclear speech and activism (when Russia was Communist) in order to threaten ‘Adolf’ Putin.

The debacle can be understood by simply keeping a few statements in mind:

1. Excerpt from the Ukrainian Declaration of State Sovereignty in 1990, a year before the country formally gained independence from the Soviet Union, albeit under the same former Communist ruler:

The Ukrainian SSR solemnly declares its intention of becoming a permanently neutral state that does not participate in military blocs and adheres to three nuclear free principles: to accept, to produce and to purchase no nuclear weapons.

Forget legal implications here. Was it prudent and wise for the West to attempt to peel Ukraine away from Russian influence into a forward base for its imperial challenge?

Initially, Ukraine understood that it was vulnerable to becoming a hinge point in a struggle between a crippled Russia and the US-dominated West. It was well-established that the origin of Bolshevik rule, its maintenance, and finally its demise into the era of anarchic oligarchy had always involved Western elements working towards these ends. Neutrality was a refuge from Sovietism and all of its backstage string-pulling.

And now? Did their ‘pivot’, undertaken by American officials with their own financial and ideological interests, benefit Ukraine, Europe, or the world?

And why is that an actor is the President of Ukraine?
